At Christmas time, we all get busy hunting down and purchasing all the items for the special people in our lives, but there are moments in all our lives when we need those big ticket items quickly, and we just don’t have the funds available. Maybe you bought all your Christmas presents and suddenly the washing machine stopped working. Imagine you had this wonderful gift in mind for your son or daughter, but your car broke down, so you lost the money you needed to purchase the item. I’ve written this sponsored post on behalf of Kmart to tell you about Kmart’s exciting solution to these tricky situations–Kmart’s Lease It program.
The Kmart Lease It is a convenient payment option for the Shop Your Way customers and customers who have an immediate need for items at Kmart.
You can lease brand-new, never refurbished items, including trusted, quality brands such as Kenmore and Craftsman across a wide variety of departments, including:
- Home electronics and entertainment
- Household goods and furniture
- Sporting goods
- Lawn and garden
- Outdoor living
If I wanted to purchase a new Swing Set for my children, for example, I could use The Kmart Lease It option and not worry about coming up with all that money up front because, believe me, I don’t have it!
One of the other things that we really need right now but don’t have the money for? New living room furniture. The kids have climbed all over the back of the couch, drawn on the seats, and thrown up all over the furniture thousands of times already. For the guests who have come to our home, I promise that I clean the furniture after all vomiting incidents, but nothing can take away the memories or the stains underneath the cushions. We’ve had a good run with the furniture and it’s held up well considering the trials it’s been through. Perhaps it’s time to release it… (get it?) and go for something newer and sassier.
Of course, I also have dreams of backyard dinners with the family when the summertime (or the random 70 degree winter day in North Carolina) comes, but we have no outdoor furniture. This furniture is not a necessity or an emergency by any means, but I can dream, right?
If I wanted to get any of the items on my list, I could lease it for a reasonable price and get a flexible payment plan. I don’t even need a good credit score because there’s no credit required to get approved. Only photo id, age, and income are used in the application process. In fact, I could get all of the items on my list if I went crazy and decided I wanted them all. The minimum purchase amount is $150; there is no maximum amount and customers can bundle multiple items within one contract.
They even make applying for the program easy! You can either applying online or in the store. You don’t need any additional applications or references to complete the process.
Instead of making payments in the store, you just set up your payments via automatic bank draft or have it taken out of your card automatically every month, so you don’t even need to worry about forgetting your payments. You lease for a minimum of 5 months before returning it, buying it out, or continuing the lease. You do have to go in the store to make the initial purchase and set up the payment plan. You can get out earlier than the five months using the Early Purchase Option, which would allow you to buy the item in 30, 60, or 90 days for a modest premium over the original purchase price.
Once you get all set up, you take your purchase home and brag about it on Facebook and Twitter. Make sure to take lots of selfies in front of it. Brag about how the kids haven’t thrown up on it yet. Oh wait…that’s my thing.
