You may remember me sounding off on the robot pictured above in It’s Robot Time. At the time, I thought he was playing with it appropriately, finally, but it was super annoying that he insisted on never letting the thing turn off. And actually, he never let the cards stay in the robot’s back at the time, either. We could never allow him to hold more than one card at a time because he would crumple them up and ruin them.
Well, after a brief hiatus, where he wasn’t really interested in the robot, he’s started playing with it again. He’s still got the card shuffling thing going on when he’s done “interacting” with it, but he’s also doing a really good job picking correct answers on the cards. AND he’s keeping excess cards in the back of the robot when he’s not using them. Progress!
We got Case Management services approved FINALLY through The Arc. Now we just wait for the second middle person to call us back and tell us who else we’ll have to talk to in order to get things rolling. I’m pretty happy about it, though. It’s another step in the right direction.
